Regarding Fees
Because Mr. Weiss does not have a large overhead, he can be very competitive in his fee. Before undertaking the project, he will quote a fee range and will honor it unless the scope of the project changes.
Unlike many practitioners, he does not accept a retainer. That means he waits until the project is completed and the client is satisfied before he sends a bill. Reflecting this confidence in his work, he has used this "handshake" method for nearly 25 years.
About Stuart
Mr. Weiss is a CPA and holds an MBA and an MS from Stanford University. He received his undergraduate degree from UCLA, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude. He has taught accounting and finance courses at the University of Portland, Portland State University and Lewis & Clark College. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Oregon Society of CPAs.
In addition to Stuart’s business valuation activities, he is a principal in a family business where, as treasurer, he is responsible for investing in real estate and the stock market. This gives him an important insight into the dynamics of a small privately-held company. As a result, he understands the client’s perspective while remaining an objective valuation professional.
